It was worth it!!!

BoldHere's the story..
Michelle had pre labor contractions all weekend but they were minor. About 9pm November 3 she got the big ones. We waited about an hour later to call the doctor because they were 7 minutes apart. We live 30 min away so we decided to go a head and getto the hospital.
Luckily we were going to the hospital anyways because the way Lance was speeding and running red lights it was amazing we got their without injury.
When we got their we didn't think they would send us home so we brought up all of our bags & pillows. "I was checking in whether they liked it or not!" It looked as if we were moving in for good with all of the stuff we brought. :)
Now remember this is my first pregnancy and the nurse asks me. "On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate the intensity of your contractions." In my mind I am thinking (COMPARED TO WHAT..Well they are pretty bad...Are they going to get worse...If I tell her a 5 is she going to send me home?) So I say, "well, right now it's about a 12!!!!"
I labored til about 6 am and I didn't have a break in my contractions. I would have 2 strong ones back to back and then a long minor one & then bam 2 strongs ones again. So the nurse finally talked me into taking some stadol. About 30 secs later that nurse was my new best friend :) I was able to sleep for a few hours and then the stadol wore off. I finally consented to an epidural but the anesthesiologist was in a C - section. I was dialated about 7 1/2 when she finally got there. The epidural only worked on my left side so they tried again. By then I was 8 centimeters and I felt like pushing. So they pushed the medicine through and put me on my right side but it still didn't numb me completely.
We pushed for an hour and Hannah was stuck. My doctor was at another hospital and on his way. Then he was here but in a C section so we pushed for another hour so she would stay where she was.
Finally he gave me 3 options. Continue pushing... "Umm No!!!" use a vacuum or have a c-section." Well I had already torn so healing from that and a c-section would not be good so we decided to clean house (the vacuum) :) Maybe, Maybe 30 sec later & one strong push and Hannah was here!!!!!
Words can not describe the waves of emotions that took place from that moment on. I immediately held her and was infatuated with my new baby girl. Only God could have created this beautiful creature and she was ours.
They cleaned her and took her to the scale... I heard from the nurses... my guess is 8 4... oh she's more than that... " 9lbs 1 oz!!!!" How did this just come out of her????
Well I tore 3 1/2 degrees (almost all the way) and into the muscle on the left side.
All of a sudden I was very acutely aware that my epidural only worked on one side because I felt every stitch. That hurt worse than everything else. But it only got worse from there.
I had lost a lot of blood so when they had me get up and go to the bathroom a few hours later I passed out on & off for about 4 minutes. Lance was out getting food & came in at the end of it. We thought that was the end of it but no. I continued to pass out everytime I would get up and they didn't want to move me over to post pardum with less staff until I had stopped.
I continually asked for some pain medicine but all they would give me was ibuprofen unless they spoke to the doctor so I politely said, "GET THE DOCTOR!!!"
Finally we got over to our room late that night and we got the Suite!!! It's like 3 times bigger than the regular rooms.
Then we got the nurse from hell. She made me get up and try to go to the bathroom on my own. So far so good I didn't pass out but I couldn't go to the bathroom because I was so swollen. So she said she had to put in a catheter. I couldn't lift my bottom or move for her because I was shaking so bad from her trying to put the catheter in and the other nurses tried to tell her but her response was " I don't want to have to change her sheets so she needs to put this under her." Lance was not happy.
4 nurses later & a lot of screaming they finally were able to get it in. My swelling from pushing and how large Hannah was caused a lot of problems for them.
After all of that the nurse said o.k. I will go get some pain medicine for you. "Oh really, well thank you, I wouldn't want to inconvenience you in any way." (Sorry I wasn't in a good mood then.)
Everything after that was on the up & up. The nurse the next day was really good and she said it was her mission to get me out of bed without passing out and going to the bathroom without the catheter in. Her shift ended at 7pm the next day and at 6:45pm I went to the bathroom and almost made it with out passing out.
They took some blood to see if I needed a transfusion. I guess I didn't need one bc they never came back with the news. By Thursday the 6th I was able to go to the bathroom without help & I finally could take a shower. Friday night about 8pm they let us go home.
Lance got thrown into being my nurse & diaper duty real quick with all of my drama. He did poopy diapers and all! But, all of it was worth it!!!!

Going Home from Hospital

Going Home Outfit

Her outfit was a premie outfit because I didn't want her clothes to look like they were way to big. We did not have that problem. This is the only time she will be able to where this.

She's ours & we can take her home now!!!

My first car ride... I slept most of the way...

then 5 min from the house I got really hungry !!!

We were going to pic up a prescription on the way

but Lance had to drop of Michelle & Hannah

so Hannah could eat. Then he went

back & got the prescriptions.
